According to the order of the Supreme Court, the National Lok Adalat was held across the country to reduce the pile of cases. Most of the cases were disposed of. The National Lok Adalat sat at Srirampur court in Hooghly on Saturday. Hooghly District and Sessions Judge (Chairman of the District National Lok Adalat) Mr. Shantanu Jha headed by District National Lok Adalat Sachitra Smt. Sharmistha Ghosh, 8 benches are sitting in Srirampur. Also 9 in Chunchra, 6 in Arambagh and 3 in Chandannagar total 26 benches in Hooghly district. Sahana Khatun, Office Master of Hooghly District Legal Services Authority, said that it was sitting. On this day in Srirampur Court Bench No. 5 along with Judicial Officer Mrs. Shiuli Roy as ‘Honorary’ Bench Judges were Lawyer Mrs. Subhra Lahiri and Legal Correspondent Molla Jasimuddin. The concerned bench heard the cases related to the unpaid loans of Arohan Finance Limited and UCO Bank. It is said that most of the cases were settled with the consent of both the parties.
