Jalangi magazine organized the 17th International Jalangi festival at Krishnapada Memorial Hall, Sealdah
Smt. Chinmayee Biswas, Founder of “Antarjatik JALANGI Sahitya Patrika”, had organized the mega 17th JALANGI Festival.
The 2-days colourful event was held at KGM Hall, Sealdah, Kolkata on 18 & 19 Nov.
17th JALANGI FESTIVAL embraced hundreds of poets and singers from all parts of Bengal, along with Tribal Cultural Performances, including rhythmic dance by Santhals.
A host of dignitaries had graced the occasion and praised Chinmayee Biswas and her team for their outstanding endeavour.
To create a healthy environment for culture and artists, Jalangi magazine has been organizing International Jalangi Festival for 17 years.
Like other times, under the initiative of President Mr. Ramapada Biswas and Editor Mrs. Chinmayee Biswas, this year it was also held with grand success.
The inauguration was completed by setting up a pot full of water from Ganga and Jalangi river alongside Lotus on the stage, lighting of lamps and performance of tribal dances.
This great event started by honoring the honorable guests with the aim of showcasing literature and expressing multi-dimensional views through poetry. The occasion started with the procession on the road.
After that, the program continued with the felicitation of many eminent poets, singers and scholars from different parts of India and Bangladesh.
B.D.O of Haringhata, Mrs. Mahesweta Biswas (daughter of Mr. Ramapada Biswas and Mrs. Chinmayee Biswas) was also present on the second day of the occasion.
