Howrah – Srirampur National People’s Court settled numerous cases

National Lok Adalats were sitting in various lower courts across the country on Saturday. Howrah District Headquarters Court and Srirampur Sub-Divisional Court are no exception. On this day, Howrah District and Sessions Judge (also Chairman of District Legal Services Center) Ms. Sonia Majumder led by Ms. Secretary of District Legal Services Center Suparna Sarkar. The bench sat. 23 in the District Headquarters Court and 3 in the Uluberia Sub-Divisional Court. Howrah District Legal Services Center Office Master Prosenjit Bhattacharya said – “There were 4,251 cases registered in the National People’s Court that day. 3,841 cases have been settled, the amount of money in these cases is more than 8 crore 7 lakh rupees. There was a two-member bench headed by Judge Asim Kumar Debnath in Bench No. 19 of the National Lok Adalat in Howrah District Court. Mullah Jasimuddin Mahashay became the ‘Member Judge’ of this bench as a social activist. Sarjit Bagh, Kaushik Bhattacharya and others were on behalf of Axis Bank in this bench. Debtors of Axis Bank are heard in this bench. Most of the cases are disposed of in this bench. Other benches of the Howrah district court deal with cases related to traffic law, money suits, title suits, banks, NGR, electricity, title suits, Bandhan Bank, etc. As ‘bench judges’ in the Howrah district court, teachers, lawyers, officials of social service organizations, journalists, etc. People of the world were included. It is known that the majority of the cases are resolved with the consent of both parties throughout the day. According to the order of the Supreme Court, National Lok Adalat was held across the country to reduce the pile of cases. Most of the cases are settled in this. The National Lok Adalat sat at Srirampur court in Hooghly on Saturday. Hooghly District and Sessions Judge (Chairman of District National Lok Adalat) Shri Shantanu Jha under the direction of District National Lok Adalat Secretary (Judge) Mrs. Manali Samant 9 benches are sitting in Srirampur. Also 9 in Chuchhra, 6 in Arambagh and 3 in Chandannagar in total in Hooghly district. Hooghly District Legal Services Authority Office Master Sahana Khatun said that 27 benches were sitting.
