College Day Celebrations of 75 Years of DMET

75 years of glorious existence of DMET, Taratala (a premier Marine Training Academy) was celebrated with great fanfare on 17th Dec. at the institute premises. Fun, food and games regaled about 100 attendees, who included students, ex-cadets, officials, friends and families of DMET alumni.

A few interesting games were conducted by team of HELLO KOLKATA (3D News, Events & Films), led by Debasish Banerjee and moderated by Parimal Malakar, veteran Merchant Navy officer.

But before the entertainment began in the field in noon, a solemn Meet was conducted in Assembly Hall at 10.30 am. to celebrate College Day.  The dignitaries on the dais included Dr. P J  RANGHACHARI (Rear Admiral (Retd), Director IMU-KC), ⁠P. K. BHATTACHARYA (President- AECDMET), A.K.Singh (Vice President, AECDMET), SRINIVAS VEDULA (Secretary -AECDMET), Anchor Sanjoy Gupta, 6. SAIKAT ROYCHOWDHURY – VP IRS (Regional Manager – East Coast India & Bangladesh).

Special Guest for the occasion Asish Basak (Editor-Director, HELLO KOLKATA) put up an appeal to help him make a documentary film on the glory of DMET and also to highlight experiences of exotic lives of the Mariners.
