These 2 cabin, 4 cabin toilet vehicles will be available by booking system wherein a client/ user can prebook for the occasion/ event.
“Toilet to Let” Fleet was flagged off by Hon’ble MMC of Bidhanagar municipality Shri Rajesh Chirimar on 30 Dec. at the Duttabad Crossing in the presence of eminent dignitaries comprising Doctors, Social Activists, Entrepreneurs, Educationists, Celebrities & Students of a prominent business school volunteering for the opening.
The project is the brainchild of Dr. Arijit Banerjee & his wife Arpita who have been delicately working in the sanitation ecosystem and have installed 7000 + toilets nationwide with their patented model which converts solid human waste to reusable water.
Dr. Banerjee is also popularly known as the toilet man of Bengal.
According to Dr. Arijit Banerjee & Arpita, there will be initially 4 toilets with plans of expanding nationwide. One set of vehicle has 2 and one set has 4. A total of 6 persons at a time. The services are rental based.
They further stated, “We strongly say NO to Manual Scavenging laboursome loading & unsafe disposal of human waste & We are also reusing the relatively new but otherwise discarded vehicle thus avoiding scrapping of the same and recycling them for a dedicated cause.”
