Shri Yatish Kumar, Chairman & Managing Director of Braithwaite & Co. Limited, gave away the Certificates to the trainees, who successfully completed Welding Training Certification Program, at Centre of Excellence (Welding), Braithwaite & Co. Limited (Ministry of Railways), in the line with Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKVY), a flagship scheme of the Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship (MSDE), implemented by National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC), on 05th September 2023 at Corporate Office, Kolkata.
Sri Kumar during the programme said that this should be extended to more and more interested students for their better livelihood. They can even get chance of getting a job in UAE and other countries also. He advised to make provision for online facilities to students for better accessibility.
The event was a resounding success, with participants from diverse backgrounds gaining valuable welding skills and earning prestigious certifications. Participants had the opportunity to enhance their welding skills through hands-on training, guided by expert instructors. The event covered a wide range of welding techniques, safety practices, and industry-specific insights. The objective of this Skill Certification Scheme is to enable a large number of workers within the company and outside too, to take up industry-relevant skill training that will help them in securing a better livelihood.
Smt. Shalini Singh, Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Capital Goods Skill Council (CGSC) was present and also spoke on the occasion. Shri Kalyan Kumar Coari, Director (Finance),Shri Salim G. Purushothaman, Director (Production), Shri R. P. Srivastava, Administrator, Welding Institute from BCL & Shri Sanjay Bharadwaj, Senior Vice President, (CGSC), Shri Vishal Dugar, Director, Oxyweld Engineers Pvt. Ltd. and other senior officers were present on the occasion. They also distributed Certificates to the trainees.
Braithwaite & Co. Limited’s ‘Welding Training Centre’ received accreditation from the Capital Goods Skill Council (CGSC) an approved body under the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) in June 2023. Now apart from imparting advanced skill training to welders, the center gained recognition to conduct welders’ skill evaluation and competency certification also. Braithwaite is now eligible to provide training in the following certification courses under the category of- Manual Metal ARC Welding / Shielded Metal ARC Welding, Assistant Manual Metal ARC Welding / Shielded Metal ARC Welding & MIG / MAG Welding.
